Director, Marex Prime Services
Ortwin Gierhake is a Director of Marex Prime Services, based in Hong Kong. Having worked in Asia for over 20 years, he has extensive experience in the Asian financial markets and is well positioned to advise clients on the various aspects of setting up and running their hedge fund operations. During his career he has held senior management roles at WestLB, Goldman Sachs and Nomura, where he established a middle market sales team focusing on boutique managers, covering them across multiple asset classes.
Ortwin joined Cowen’s prime brokerage and outsourced trading team in August 2018 and transitioned to Marex in December 2023 when Marex acquired Cowen’s prime brokerage and outsourced trading business. He has lived in Hong Kong for the last 13 years and has previously lived and worked in Tokyo and Frankfurt. Ortwin has an MBA from Waseda University in Japan.
