AIMA was pleased to invite you to a virtual town hall meeting with the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”). Its experts answered your questions on its discussion paper DP23/2 which asks how the rules applying to asset management industry could be updated. AIMA’s response to DP23/3 has suggestions for changes in five priority areas:

  • Overlaps in FUND, COLL and other chapters of the FCA Handbook
  • Professional-only funds ands professional clients
  • Reporting
  • Securitisation
  • Client categorisation

The FCA wanted to hear ideas on how it could do this without reducing its ability to meet its objectives of protecting consumers, maintaining market integrity and promoting competition in favour of the consumer. This was also an opportunity to put forward thoughts on how the regime can be improved.
