With new EU rules for derivatives trading (so called "EMIR REFIT") taking effect on 17 June 2019, we review the broad amendments to the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) and the impact these changes are likely to have in APAC for derivatives transactions between APAC and EU entities.
In particular, we will focus on the counterparty classification requirements, the clearing mandate, margin and reporting requirements.
