AIMA APAC Webinar: The Onshorisation of Funds

Singapore China Japan Hong Kong Asia Pacific Australia

Hong Kong’s Open-ended Fund Company (OFC) regime saw its first registration in August 2019. Singapore’s Variable Capital Company (VCC) framework is expected to be launched end 2019.

In this webinar, AIMA’s invited panel of experts will discuss the increasing “onshorisation" of funds. This is reflected by the increasing availability and use of onshore fund vehicles like the OFC, VCC, Singapore’s limited partnership vehicle and Hong Kong’s proposed limited partnership for funds.

The panel will also examine the pros and cons of using these relatively new onshore fund structures (particularly the OFC and VCC) compared to the traditional offshore offerings, and will offer a comparative review of the key advantages and perceived disadvantages of OFC versus VCC.
