AIMA Australia Manager-Only Workshop: Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO) Regulations

Australia

The new Design and Distribution Obligations (DDO) are a key regulatory development that will impact AIMA managers issuing and distributing products to retail investors.  This manager only workshop is designed to assist AIMA managers who offer retail funds in preparing for DDO that commences in October 2021.

The FSC has been developing an industry template for the target market determination, a key aspect of the new product design obligations.  The FSC have agreed to share the draft funds management template with AIMA members to discuss and receive comments on it.  Michaela McNeil and Ryan McMillin from AMP Capital, and active participants of the FSC working group, will work through the template with participants.

In addition, Vinod Kumar of Blackrock will lead a discussion regarding the application of DDO to exchange-traded products including updated guidance from ASIC.

Nikki Bentley and Lucy Adamson of EY FS Law will provide some practical guidance on preparing your DDO program to meet your obligations.

This is a great opportunity to get up to speed in respect of DDO leveraging off key industry insights.
