The Herbert Smith Freehills employment, pensions and incentives team will examine key employment considerations that impact investment management firms from hiring to firing.

During the session, the speakers will discuss the following:              

  • Effective incentives: retaining and restraining employees though incentive plan design, implementation and variation
  • Managing key man risks: protecting company confidential information and IP and managing competition and solicitation by former employees
  • Emerging employment issues in transactions: structuring employee transfers and assignments and the rise of the 'Weinstein clause'

Gareth heads both the commercial litigation practice in Hong Kong and the Greater China employment practice. In the employment arena he has particular emphasis on contentious employment work. He has advised clients on all aspects of employment law, including disputes concerning bonus/profit share, termination, restrictive covenants and discrimination and harassment cases.
