The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) issued consultation conclusions on proposed changes to the Securities and Futures (Financial Resources) Rules (FRRs) on 14 July 2025. These conclusions introduce capital requirements for the expanded Type 9 regulated activity, Type 11 regulated activity (both dealing and advising limbs), and the asset management group central OTC derivatives dealer, which are relevant for asset managers. Asset managers will need to assess the impact of the new rules and determine whether to adopt the basic approach or the standard approach going forward. This seminar/webinar will discuss the key changes and outline the next steps for asset managers.
