Managing the Operational Risks of Outsourcing by Investment Fund Managers

Luxembourg

AIMA and Arendt & Medernach SA invite you to join them on Wednesday, 22 May 2019 for a panel discussion on managing the operational risks of outsourcing, including those that arise when the outsourced service has a technology aspect. Panellists will include representatives of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), an investment fund manager, AIMA & Arendt.

Outsourcing / delegation is a fact of life in the financial services industry and has been for many years.  It is neither good nor bad in and of itself.  However, the key to good outsourcing is appropriately managing the associated risks. Although investment fund managers  have been outsourcing to a greater or lesser degree for many years, regulators around the world have been examining these relationships more thoroughly since the financial crisis and have identified potential areas of concern, notably related to cybersecurity when using IT outsourcing or cloud computing infrastructures.

Speakers:
Pascal Berchem, Head of the team in charge of the initial approval and the on-going supervision of AIFMs, Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier
Nicolas Deldime, Partner, Arendt Regulatory & Consulting SA
Cécile Gellenoncourt, Deputy head of the team in charge of the supervision of IT systems, Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier
