The Central Bank of Ireland (‘CBI’), which regulates Ireland’s €3 trillion fund sector, has published the outcome of a thematic review of the implementation of its framework for governance, management and oversight in fund management companies (or “CP86” as it is known within the industry).  The framework, introduced in 2017 for new firms and in 2018 for existing firms, encompasses detailed requirements on organisational effectiveness, the performance of managerial functions, delegate oversight and resourcing.

The review’s findings confirm that a significant proportion of the 358 fund management companies registered in Ireland had not fully complied with regulations that came into force three years ago.  The CBI has urged groups to take immediate action to critically assess their operations to ensure that they meet the rules.

AIMA and Dechert invite you to join them on Thursday, 12 November 2020 for an overview of the thematic review of the implementation of CP86. The speakers will explore some of the key issues identified in the review and what it could mean for fund management companies in Ireland.
