Location: Hong Kong (office-based with flexibility)

Languages: Native Mandarin; fluent English (written and spoken); ability to draft professionally in Chinese. Cantonese helpful.

Key responsibilities

Strategic coordination

  • Support co-heads of APAC in achieving strategic goals in Hong Kong and China, with occasional support across APAC.
  • Support and coordinate relevant AIMA committees and working groups relevant to Hong Kong and China (including meeting logistics, minutes and action tracking as needed).

Membership liaison

  • Be the go-to person for our members in Hong Kong and China. Respond to queries, share updates, foster engagement and solicit input.
  • Be proactive in membership liaison, acquisition and retention, with a focus on Chinese managers (onshore and offshore).
  • Respond to inbound interest in AIMA membership and manage follow-up promptly.
  • Maintain a sales pipeline and activity tracking using AIMA’s CRM.
  • Support membership retention and the annual renewal process in the region.
  • Assist global AIMA members seeking guidance on Hong Kong/China-related membership activity and engagement opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel for AIMA meetings and events as required (including mainland travel, notably Shanghai for China Live).

Event and member content (Hong Kong & China)

  • Own and deliver AIMA’s China Live Conference (Shanghai), including agenda coordination, expert/speaker liaison and logistics with internal teams and vendors.
  • Contribute to a Hong Kong/China-focused programme of member briefings, webinars and roundtables (working with external experts, including law firms and practitioners).
  • Help source timely topics relevant to Chinese managers, including investor appetite and structuring themes.
  • Represent AIMA at local conferences and industry events.

This person will work closely with a China-based consultant as a subject-matter resource to support China-related member activity (no direct reporting line).

Additional regulatory/policy support and internal coordination (as needed)

  • Coordinate with colleagues regionally/globally on policy-related requests that require APAC input (as needed).
  • Draft member briefing notes ahead of key meetings and engagements.
  • Take minutes and manage action tracking for relevant committees/working groups.
  • Assist with tracking key regulatory developments and maintaining internal updates.
  • Support internal reporting and coordination with global teams.

Skills and experience

  • A self-starter with excellent communication skills, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage a broad range of tasks while maintaining an organised approach.
  • Exposure to regulatory/compliance/policy topics is an advantage (e.g., regulator/SRO/ exchange/industry association, compliance, legal or policy roles); legal qualification is not required.
  • Ability to engage with senior member stakeholders, external partners and industry leaders, and represent AIMA professionally and positively.
