Sustainable finance, responsible investment and ESG are getting increasing attention from investors, regulators and the asset management community.  For instance, the European Commission has published an Action Plan of Financing Sustainable Growth, a key part of which will be proposals seeking to clarify the duties of institutional investors and asset managers.  The Commission’s proposals are also expected to seek to reorient capital flows; manage financial risks from climate change, resource depletion, environmental degradation and social issues; and foster transparency and long-termism.  While AIMA already has an ESG working group that is helping us with our engagement with the UN PRI on their work regarding guidance for managers thinking about integrating ESG considerations into hedge fund strategies, we would like to assemble a separate sustainable investments working group to focus on regulatory engagement in this area.  If you are interested in participating in this group, please contact Jennifer Wood.
