On 11 March 2024, the Central Bank of Ireland updated its Alternative Investment Funds Rulebook to incorporate a new chapter dedicated to European Long Term Investment Funds (ELTIFs). This addition specifies ELTIF-related restrictions, supervisory expectations, prospectus details, general operational guidelines, and mandates for both annual and half-yearly reporting, aiming to streamline and clarify the regulatory landscape for ELTIFs. Further details on the revisions made have been published in a feedback statement.

Additional guidance for the authorisation process of AIFs and Retail Investor Alternative Funds (RIAIFs) have been published on the central banks’ website. Please note that the update authorisation process applies exclusively to closed-ended ELTIFs until the final RTS is available.
