Digital assets, particularly proof-of-work based assets like Bitcoin, are facing an increasing level of scrutiny relative to their energy requirements. However, digital assets present an exciting new financial opportunity around social equity and more distributed governance that allows a larger set of stakeholders to participate.  This panel will examine both the challenges and exciting opportunities presented by these questions, and introduce a framework for understanding these assets within the context of environmental, social equity, and governance framework. Panelists will also explore what headwinds this debate might present to both institutional adoption as well as the approach of regulators in North America and Europe
