UK Senior Managers Regime

From December 2019, buy-side firms will be subject to the FCA’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime, which will require regulatory approval of senior managers and certification by firms of staff in various functions. For many organizations, strategic change is needed to meet the new requirements. Join us for this half-day course to help you understand the key implementation challenges associated with the rules, as well as how to solve them. By participating, you will identify key risks and action points to ensure the effective implementation across your organization of the regime once it comes into force later this year.

Course outline

An overview of the scope of the UK regime
A detailed discussion of the three key areas that are covered by the regime (Senior Managers, Certification, Conduct Rules)
A discussion of the areas that may create challenges (assignment of senior managers and certification holders, extra-territorial application, treatment of partners for LLPs, ownership of a firm’s SM&CR programme)
A run through of recent FCA cases, trends and commentary, focusing on the FCA’s expectations on behaviour in and out of the workplace
A series of examples designed to demonstrate the application of the rules in practice and the techniques that firms can deploy to successfully implement the regime.

Standard members' rate: £375 + VAT

Standard non-members' rate: £500 + VAT

Cancellations and refunds

Any cancellation must be made in writing. For any cancellation received 15-30 days prior to the course start date, 50% of the course fee is still payable. No refund is given for a cancellation made 14 days or less prior to the commencement of a course. Transferring from one course to another is treated as a cancellation. You can substitute one delegate for another at no additional cost. In this instance, please give two business days’ notice.
