Policy note

This policy note relates to the use of AIMA’s and the ACC's logo by members of AIMA and the ACC.

Member companies desire to indicate their membership of AIMA or the ACC on appropriate documentation. The AIMA Council has agreed to permit this and has issued this Policy Note to clarify the circumstances in which member companies may refer to their membership of AIMA or the ACC.

1. A member company of AIMA or the ACC is permitted to use the AIMA or ACC member logo on letterheads or their electronic equivalents, on business cards and compliments slips. Subject to prior written approval from the Council of AIMA, the AIMA or ACC member logo may also be used on other documents but should NEVER be used on or in any sales, marketing or promotional material. If a member company is unsure whether its intended usage is consistent with these terms, it should submit a sample of the draft material or provide a url link to the intended part of its website to [email protected] for consideration and determination.

2. Where such permission or approval is granted to a member of AIMA or the ACC, the member company undertakes that the AIMA or ACC member logo shall be shown only in the form displayed above.

3. Such permission or approval is subject to the conditions that any material on which the AIMA or the ACC member logo is displayed does not:

a) imply that AIMA or the ACC endorses the member company or its representative or its products, services or communications;
b) misrepresent the member company’s or its representative’s relationship with AIMA or the ACC or present false or misleading information about AIMA or the ACC;
c) contain content that could be construed as distasteful, offensive, controversial or damaging to the reputation of AIMA or the ACC;
d) infringe any intellectual property or other rights of any person or otherwise not comply with any relevant law or regulation; or
e) give rise to confusion with the UK unlisted securities market known as AIM.

4. The Council may alter or revoke such permission or approval at any time by giving reasonable notice on its website or by electronic communication to its members. If and when a member company ceases to be a member of AIMA or the ACC, such permission and/or approval will immediately be withdrawn and the use of the AIMA or the ACC member logo shall immediately then cease.

5. Any abuse of such permission or approval shall constitute a disciplinary offence and/or conduct inconsistent with the objects of AIMA or the ACC and may give cause for the suspension or removal of the member company from membership of AIMA or the ACC.

This Policy Note shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and any dispute in connection with the Policy Note or the terms thereof shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
