*AIMA defines an allocator as an entity which pools money to purchase securities, investments assets, including alternative investments. They include pension plans (both private and public), sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and single-family offices with greater than $1bn in assets. This description does NOT include fund of funds or multi-manager platforms, private bank businesses, REITs, multi-family offices or consultants.
