May Fund Manager Briefing Series - Hong Kong

Hong Kong

Recent changes proposed by the Government on the fund exemption to promote Hong Kong as a funds hub.  However, will these work and be widely adopted by the market and what about the issues of transfer pricing and taxing carry and performance

The Government has shown strong determination to develop Hong Kong as a full-service international asset management center, and have put forward a number of initiatives to accelerate the development to enhance Hong Kong’s position as a preferred fund domicile. Recent changes proposed by the Government on fund exemption have included all private funds regardless of fund structures or location of central management and control.

Topics to be covered during this round-table session include the following:

  • Background of ring-fencing features from the tax regimes for funds
  • Do they work and be widely adopted by the market
  • What are the issues of transfer pricing
