AIMA APAC Talent & Culture Group – Call for Volunteers

Published: 17 August 2026

AIMA is seeking members for the refreshed APAC Talent & Culture Group (formerly AIMA APAC DEI Working Group)

Purpose
The AIMA APAC Talent and Culture Group aims to cultivate thriving talent ecosystems across the alternative investment industry in Asia Pacific. This group focuses on attracting, developing, and retaining talent across the full spectrum of our member organisations, from established powerhouses to emerging managers, creating real opportunity for diverse professionals to build careers in asset management.

Why This Matters
Research has shown that employees who feel a strong sense of belonging are almost three times as likely to stay with their current employer, translating to measurable reductions in costly attrition and presenteeism. For our industry, where expertise and institutional knowledge are competitive advantages, this shift represents a strategic investment in workforce stability and performance.

What We Do
This group will provide a platform for conversation beyond compliance, connecting members around practical solutions to shared talent challenges. We're expanding our aperture: representation matters, but it is only one part of building workplaces where talent, regardless of background or career stage, can genuinely belong and thrive.

The group meets every two months and will be coordinated out of the APAC time zone. We welcome participation from interested members across the region and beyond who have relevant experience or an interest in these areas.

Leadership
The AIMA team, together with co-chairs Kate Wood, Head of Inclusion for Asia and Middle East at HSBC, and Will Hallatt, Partner and Co-Chair of the Global Financial Regulatory Practice at Gibson Dunn, brings deep industry expertise and authentic commitment to making talent strategies stick.

To join the group, please register your interest directly with Zandra Ang indicating in brief your organisational role, relevant area(s) of expertise and/or interest. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to get in touch with Michael Bugel.
