Survey for EU managers passporting in to the UK

Published: 16 March 2018

Following the HM Treasury announcement in December 2017 regarding a potential temporary permission for EEA firms to continue their activity in the UK after Brexit, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has launched a survey to identify firms which would be interested in this temporary permission.

Subject to the future legislation, it is expected that firms and funds regulated by the FCA would need to notify the FCA of their desire to benefit from this permission before the UK exits the EU. The FCA anticipates that this notification will be a relatively simple process and will not require the submission of an application for authorisation.

The survey’s questions cover the firms’ contact details, the directive under which firms are passporting in to the UK and firms’ intentions around accessing the UK market following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete and closes on 11 May 2018.
