AIMA/MFA file joint response to SEC regarding Form PF

Published: 14 March 2018

AIMA and MFA have filed a joint letter in response to the US Securities and Exchange Commission's request for comments on its collection of information on Form PF in connection with the Office of Management and Budget’s renewal of the SEC’s authorisation to collect data on that form.

In the letter, we supported the SEC’s role in overseeing systemic risk from the activities of investment advisers through private fund reports, but suggested that the SEC should reduce the regulatory burden for filers.  In our letter, we recommended, among other things, that the SEC reduce the frequency of the reporting and the number of month-end data points and simplify Form PF questions to better identify potential systemic risk.

Please contact Jennifer Wood should you have any questions about this letter.
