Last week AIMA held the inaugural meeting of its AIFMD Review Implementation Discussion Forum.  This group is a manager member only peer-to-peer discussion forum for questions related to implementation of the new requirements for AIFMs and AIFs under AIFMD 2 and UCITS management companies and UCITS under the revisions to the UCITS Directive adopted as part of the AIFMD Review Directive.  These calls will happen every two to three weeks through May 2026.

The agenda for each call is informed by questions posed by group members.  Questions submitted in advance are circulated to the group on an anonymous basis to allow other members of the group to consider the questions and how they are handling the matter, with a view toward open dialogue and an exchange of ideas on the calls.  AIMA will invite one or two non-manager member subject matter experts to each call to be available to comment on technical matters and give their perspectives.  However, these calls are designed to be primarily peer to peer exchanges and manager members will only get the best out of it if they are prepared to participate and share their own perspectives.

AIMA will also soon be publishing a pair of AIFMD 2 related implementation guides.  All members are invited to attend the launch events for these guides.
